Cancer Of The Colon

This is based on a study that followed nearly 240,000 men Sweden for 35 years. The analysis, published in the journal Gut, which shows teens are overweight have twice the risk of bowel cancer.
The World Cancer Research Fund says the relationship between obesity and cancer is very strong. Bowel cancer is a dangerous disease with almost 1.4 million new cases each year.

The participants in this study between the ages of 16 and 20 at the earliest. The majority are normal weight, but overweight 6.5% and 1% are obese.

There are 855 cases of colorectal cancer in the study. However, the results showed not all weights are affected equally. Those who are obese 2.38 times more likely affected by bowel cancer.

The research was led by the Orebro University Hospital in Sweden and Harvard University. Rachel Thompson, from the World Cancer Research Fund, said evidence suggests that obesity is a risk factor for colon cancer.

"This finding is interesting because it gives an indication that the risk of cancer of the bowel may be affected by our lifestyle habits along life's journey," said Rachel as reported by the BBC.

In some ways, the study of the relationship between factors such as obesity and cancer risk is still to be developed. In order to provide a clearer picture regarding the relationship of the two.
